[CHARLES D'ORLÉANS (1391-1465). Charter in his name, Blois 19 May 1413; signed by his secretary Pierre Sauvage oblong vellum in-4. Document concerning wine. Charles, Duke of Orleans and Valois, Count of Blois and Beaumont and Lord of Coucy, orders his treasurer to pay to his "good soul and feal escutcheon and chamberlain Robert de Laire the sum of thirty gold escuzes for having and buying for him in our town of Blois three tails of wine to bring to his hostel at La Motte sur Beuvron and in recompense for the fact that on several occasions we have been in his hostiels in the said country and drunk his wine, of which he has not wanted us to count anything"... Linked to the document is a receipt from Robert de Laire, 20 June 1413. Attached is a P.S. by Louis Ruzé, Treasurer and Receiver General of the finances of the Duchess of Orléans [Marie de Clèves (1426-1487), third wife of Charles of Orléans], 28 September 1479 (oblong vellum in-8), receipt for 64 livres tournois to Guillaume de Villebresme.
