Oblong folio, publisher's full red cloth binding, cold decoration on covers, gilt title on first cover, in a later cloth slipcase (spots of discolouration on covers). In 1881, the brothers Charles (1852-1937), Auguste (1862-1930) and Georges (1864-1939) succeeded their father Florentin Charnaux (1819-1883) in the photography studio on Place Bel-Air in Geneva. They were among the pioneers of mountain photography.
