In-12, brown morocco, richly decorated with compartments of gilt fillets and small irons, monogram in the central oval, spine decorated, inner lace, gilt edges (Smeers). Beautiful edition published by Damase Jouaust. It is decorated with 5 headpieces by Émile Lévy etched by Boutelié and woodcut vignettes after Giacomelli. The text is framed by a red fillet. One of 50 copies on chine in a fine fanfare binding, made at the time by Isidore Smeers. Insignificant rubbing to the spines.
