CHENAVARD (Antoine-Marie). Voyage en Grèce et dans le Levant fait en 1843-1844. Lyon, Léon Boitel, 1849. In-12, half red morocco, spine decorated with gilt fleurons, speckled edges (Bruyère). Second edition of the "petite relation" of this artistic journey to Greece, Constantinople and Egypt made in 1843-1844 by the painter Étienne Rey and the architects Antoine-Marie Chenavard and Jean-Michel Dalgabio. It is illustrated with a folded map and 12 out-of-text views on chine collé engraved after drawings by Chenavard and Rey. A pleasant copy bound by Bruyère, one of Lyon's best bookbinders of the period. From the library of M. J. Dubois, "devout humanist", with bookplate. Some spotting. Blackmer, n°332 (ed. 1846) - Hage Chahine, n°974.
