China, Canton, late 19th century A Famille Rose enamelled porcelain teapot and cup, the cylindrical teapot decorated with scenes of palaces and gardens alternating with groups of fruit, flowers and birds in lobed cartouches surrounded by floral scrolls on a gilt ground, the braided handles, the cup decorated with scrolls of flowers and fruit, all in a woven wicker basket and floral fabric with metal handles and clasp. H. 12.5 (teapot) and 5.5 cm (cup); the basket W. 23 cm H. 16.5 cm The teapot lid is missing, the enamels are worn, the fabric is stained.
