CHINA - JIAQING period (1796 - 1820): Porcelain covered globular baluster vase with polychrome and gold enamelled famille rose decoration of passion fruit flowers supporting endless knots and sound plaques and surmounted by stylized bats and 'shou' (longevity) characters surrounded by foliage scrolls and lotus flowers. The handles in the form of ruyi sceptres, The handles in the form of ruyi sceptres, the foot and rim of the lid decorated with a frieze of Greek foliage, the neck decorated with a frieze of ruyi foliage, the lid decorated with lotus flowers in foliage, swastika and a frieze of ruyi foliage and surmounted by a lotus bud-shaped handle. The inside and reverse of the foot are turquoise enamelled. On the reverse, the six-character mark in iron red in Zhuanshu of Jiaqing.
