China, first half of the 20th century Set of five carved and lacquered wood panels, comprising two openwork and gold lacquered panels, one rectangular with a qilin, deer, birds and bat motif surrounded by plants, the other formed of scrolls interwoven in a leiwen motif, triangular with a kind of flower bud (or pomegranate) at the top, and three rectangular gold and polychrome lacquered panels on a red background carved with scenes of dignitaries and servants in pavilions and gardens (one large vertical and two smaller horizontal) 98 x 45.5 cm ; 99 x 48.5 com ; 52 x 40 cm ; 39 x 19.2 and 39 x 18cm (unframed for the smaller ones) The first two used, with chips and missing on one, the last with a long crack. 2 small carved wood panels with black lacquered edges, showing figures in a garden, China, 20th century. 21 x 11.5 cm.
