CHINESE STONE FIGURE OF BODHISATTVA Tang Dynasty, Ca. AD 618 - 907. A detailed carved stone figure of Bodhisattva, likely Guanyin, rendered in high relief against a rectangular architectural panel. The figure is adorned in flowing robes with layered hems cascading in rhythmic folds over the feet. The Bodhisattva's right hand is held at the waist in a relaxed gesture. The figure features an gentle expression, serene smile, and elongated earlobes, with softly modeled features and decorative elements. Size: 500mm x 250mm; Weight: 27.1kg Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
