CHINESE TANG DYNASTY TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF FOREIGNER - TL TESTED
Ca. 618-906 AD. A Tang dynasty terracotta figure of a foreigner. His hair braided neatly in the back, he is wearing a knee-length tunic and belt painted in orange and red pigment. He stands upright with his left arm raised as though to hold a tool. This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot. Size: L:540mm / W:210mm ; 4.8kg. Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
