CHINESE TERRACOTTA DANCING LADY - TL TESTED.
Tang Dynasty, Ca. AD 618-907 A terracotta dancing lady, dressed in a long skirt, with a mid-length orange overcoat, and hair arranged in a high double knot. Her upper body is slightly bent to the side, with one arm in the air, indicating motion in her dancing. Size: 300mm x 135mm; Weight: 1.18kg. Provenance: From the private collection of a Somerset gentleman; previously in an old British collection, formed before 2000 on the UK /European art markets. This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla.
