CHINESE TERRACOTTA DOG - TL TESTED.
Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - AD 220.
A modelled dog seated on its hind legs with perked ears and tail curled tightly against the back, the head turned slightly to one side and the mouth open, revealing teeth. The animal wears a simple harness around the neck, rendered with a looped collar detail.

Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.
