CHINESE TERRACOTTA FEMALE MUSICIAN - TL TESTED. Tang Dynasty, Ca. AD 618 - 907. A terracotta female musician standing upright with long flowing robes, a short over-jacket, and high, coiffed hair, with painted eyes and lips, holding a pan flute close to the mouth with both hands. Size: 360mm x 90mm; Weight: 1.26kg Provenance: From the private collection of a Somerset gentleman; previously in an old British collection, formed before 2000 on the UK /European art markets. This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.
