CHINESE TERRACOTTA KNEELING COURT LADY - TL TESTED. Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - AD 220. A gracefully modelled court lady kneeling with hands positioned forward, possibly once holding an offering or instrument, her features finely rendered with a serene expression and neatly parted coiffure. She wears long, layered robes painted in rich shades of red and cream with black borders, traces of which remain clearly visible. Size: 400mm x 210mm; Weight: 5.1kg Provenance: UK private collection of Asian Art; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
