CHINESE TERRACOTTA RABBIT - TL TESTED. Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - AD 220. A terracotta rabbit finely modelled in a crouching posture with forelegs bent and hind legs tucked beneath the body, the long ears raised and the eyes rendered in low relief. The surface is covered with a dark grey pigment and traces of pink pigment, particularly visible on the ears and around the mouth. Size: 170.0mmmm x 280.0mmmm; Weight: 3kg Provenance: UK private collection of Asian Art; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
