Centre lidded box in the shape of a fruit with a corded leaf handle. Relief rocaille and scattered flower decoration. Polychrome painting with gold decoration. A rare complete writing set, the original design of which was commissioned by Frederick the Great in 1762: "A writing set in which a Chinese man sits on a pulster, holding his head up as if he were singing, behind him a woman holding a parasol over his head and acting as if she were listening to him".
