Chokwe, Angola. Second half of the 20th century. Cephalomorph hunting whistle in the effigy of Tshibinda Ilonga, founder of the Chokwe identity. The whistle has two playing holes. Hunters used it to communicate with each other. Height: 11 cm Dense wood. Beautiful shiny patina with alternating dark brown tones. Sold with its base.
