With the passage of the business to his son, Paul-Louis, the tradition of creating good quality and reliable watches continued manly thanks to the move of the production factories in the capital of watchmaking, Geneva. But being able to offer perfectly functional and performing watches was no longer sufficient to satisfy the needs of an audience increasingly eager for novelty and uniqueness. Thus it was that Chopard started specializing in the production of real jewel-watches, slowly earning a first-class place.
