Lot no. 1958
Christian Peschke (1946 Bad Säckingen - 2017 Flintsbach) Interior still life with female nude sculpture Expressive depiction in sometimes intensely bright, contrasting colours, whose formal language, style and colouring are particularly influenced by the German Expressionism of the "Brücke" artists such as Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. Schmidt-Rottluff often integrated African artworks into his still lifes, which were also a major source of inspiration for Pablo Picasso at the same time. Peschke intensively explored the modern stylistic movements and avant-gardes of the first half of the 20th century, which he combined to create his own style. He studied under Gerhard Gollwitzer at the Stuttgart Academy, and at the age of 35 settled as a freelance artist in Spain; he later lived in Merano and Bolzano, Bruckmühl and Flintsbach. Peschke has been represented at numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad since the mid-1990s. Oil or acrylic/painting cardboard. Signed a. r. a. dat. (19)97. 80 x 70 cm. Frame.
