CHRISTOFLE - Charles ROSSIGNEUX (1818-1909). Spoon in electroplating inspired by a piece from the Hildesheim treasure. L 18.5 cm. In 1869, Charles Christofle decided to introduce the Hildesheim treasure to French goldsmiths and obtained permission from Berlin to reproduce certain pieces in electroplating. In 1870, the Marquise de la PAÏVA ordered a service based on this model. Our spoon was designed by ROSSIGNEUX on the basis of an oil lamp from the Hildesheim treasure.
