He was moved by the terms of his letter of 20 December, and what he wrote about England. These are cruel times for the world. But he still believes that Truth & Freedom will survive: "We are indeed living in a cruel epoch for the world. But I still believe that Truth & Freedom will survive"... An L. A. S. from Clementine S. Churchill, 13 May 1953 (2 p. in-4, in English), to General de Gaulle. She is sorry about the political demise of the Rassemblement du Peuple français party; she hopes it is only temporary; if she were French, she would be heartbroken...
