The first part of the work (vol. 1) is devoted to Russia, Tartary and Turkey; the second part (vol. 2-4) to Greece, Egypt and the Holy Land. This copy does not include the third part (vols. 5-6), on Scandinavia, published in 1819-1823. The whole is illustrated with numerous copper-engraved or aquatint plates and maps, some of which are folded. An elegant copy, nicely bound in contemporary style. The edges are decorated with a charming original decoration in brown ink. The volumes have a double tomation on the spine: Voyages & Travels vol. 74 to 77, and Clarke vol. 1 à 4.
