Firmly mounted on hardboard and framed under glass. - Small pinholes in the corners as traces of previous mounting, the corners slightly creased. Very good overall. Dynamic and expressive composition in vivid colours. WVZ 1271 - Imkamp's artistic work marked a departure of the imagination. Influenced by the Bauhaus and his studies from 1927 to 1929 under Wassily Kandinsky and Lyonel Feininger, he developed a playful and intuitive approach to colour and form. He spent the years from 1929 to 1930 in Paris, where the hustle and bustle and noise of the big city unconsciously flowed into his work. Imkamp found his way to abstraction, which he expressed in a lively colour scheme. His works from the 1970s are characterised by extremely dynamic compositions and strong colours. Gouache on paper.
