Claude GALLARD. An important panel with "The Stone of the Sun" at its centre, also known as the "Aztec Calendar", signed and dated 1975 after the literature and original drawing by the Mexican artist Roberto Sieck Flandes. This emblematic work of Aztec art is now in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. Dimensions of the panel: 237 x 140 cm. Diameter of the central disc: 120 cm. A certificate from the artist will be given to the buyer on 29 April 1975: "I, the undersigned Claude Gallard, craftsman and designer, living in Tourettes sur Loup, undertake to produce a unique piece.... I certify that I will not use this theme for any other work", as well as the receipt for the deposit for the purchase price of 14,000 Francs in April 1975.
