Claude WESEL (1942-2014) for Fernand DEMARET* (1924-2013) - Belgium Superb set comprising a textured 18k (750 thousandths) yellow gold "Coriolan" bangle bracelet and a semi-round cultured pearl necklace with a very beautiful clasp from the same collection. Signed Demaret in all letters, designed and produced by Claude Wesel at the request of Demaret around 1966. Necklace length: 36.5 cm. Length of bracelet: 18.2 cm. Gross weight: 123.8 g. The Maredsous School... One of the leading centres of Belgian jewellery design, where Fernand Demaret, André Lamy and Claude Wesel, who founded the Demaret workshop group, rub shoulders. There were also Cogels, Laloux and many others who innovated with their extraordinary creativity, both in terms of shapes and materials. The Demaret jewellers moved to Avenue Louise in Brussels, and the workshop called on Claude Wesel for a number of models, including this very fine "Coriolan" set.
