Harpsichord in wood painted and gilded on all sides (on the doors, flap, lid and sides) with gilded foliage scrolls, thistles, floral wreaths and volutes on a black background. It opens to a flap with a large lid painted with a Spanish naval battle scene signed "C. Fromenty" (for Claude Fromenty) and dated "1980" lower right. It stands on 7 tapered fluted legs.
It has 2 superimposed two-register keyboards with boxwood and ebony treads in 5 octaves (with a one-note drop in the basses), the sharps keyboard veneered with bone.
The soundboard is embellished with painted foliage and birds centred on a round rosette and features an Italian-style inner case with double bridge and double nut.
