CLOCK Napoleon III in the style of Louis XVI, Paris, late 19th century. Signed Graux Marly à Paris (Graux-Marly Frères). Red marble and gilt, chased and punched bronze. The clock case designed as a marble sphere held by two graces, crowned by a winged putto holding a portrait medallion, probably Marie Antoinette in profile. On a round plinth with a leaf frieze, mounted on a red marble base with paw feet. The base with recessed reserves, applied with foliate scrolls and flowers. The globe engraved with the hours in Roman numerals (originally gilt). Parisian movement with balance and half-hour strike on bell (missing). Snake-shaped hand (broken, the other hand missing). The movement signed P. Marti & Cie Medaille de Bronze. Ø 25.5 cm, H 69 cm. Key missing; movement needs to be reattached and requires revision. Gilding partially rubbed and oxidized in some places. Jules Graux-Marly ran a small foundry under the name Graux-Marly Frères. Das Uhrgehäuse in Form einer Marmorsphäre gehalten von zwei Grazien, bekrönt von einem geflügelten Putto, der ein Portraitmedaillon, wohl Marie Antoinette im Profil, hält. Auf runder Plinthe mit Blattfries, montiert auf rotem Marmorsockel mit Tatzenfüssen. Der Sockel mit vertieften Reserven, appliziert mit Blattvoluten und Blüten. Der Globus mit gravierten römischen Stunden (ursprünglich vergoldet). Pariser Werk mit Unruh und Halbstundenschlag auf Glocke (fehlt). Schlangenförmiger Zeiger (abgebrochen, der andere fehlt). Das Werk signiert P. Marti & Cie Medaille de Bronze. Ø 25,5 cm, H 69 cm. Schlüssel fehlt, Werk neu zu befestigen und zu revidieren. Vergoldung teils berieben bzw. stellenweise oxidiert. Jules Graux-Marly betrieb eine kleine Giesserei unter dem Namen Graux-Marly Frères. Die Firma nahm an der Pariser Ausstellung von 1878 teil und war sowohl für ihre figurativen Skulpturen als auch für ihre dekorativen Einrichtungsgegenstände sehr angesehen.
