Detailed Description
A rare sixteenth-century edition printed in Venice by the famous printer Giolito de' Ferrari. The volume represents one of the fundamental texts of Italian Renaissance veterinary science, written by Giovanni Antonio Cito, a Neapolitan physician and 'cavallerizzo'.
The contents are divided into three books dedicated to:
Diagnostics and treatment of equine and bovine pathologies.
Cookbook of specific remedies for each disease described.
Supplement to the work 'La Gloria del Cavallo' by Pasquale Caracciolo.
The frontispiece is embellished with Giolito's famous typographic mark: a phoenix rising from the flames on a globe, surmounted by the sun, enclosed in a rich architectural frame with the motto 'Semper Eadem'.
