Shawl chest, c. 1830, rectangular chest in rosewood veneer, with a softwood frame; the lid bears the inscription ‘Cachemires’ in Gothic script, executed in light-coloured wood marquetry. A hinged front panel opens to reveal two compartments (slight dent and some signs of wear; lock without its key; lid slightly warped), H. 22 cl, W. 53.5 cm, D. 35.5 cm.
