Chest (perhaps a clergyman’s?)
Made of carved softwood and metal. Rectangular in shape, assembled using mortise and tenon joints as well as nails, and featuring a single hinged lid; the sides are made of support panels. The outer walls are entirely covered with rosettes and quatrefoil motifs set within circles; the lid is edged with friezes of wolf’s teeth and zigzags. The overall background is covered with zigzags, whilst the uprights feature friezes of crosses and lozenges. A Roman cross is engraved on the lid, on the inside of the box.
