Decorated with foliate scrolls and windows flanked by pinnacles, monogrammed AB on one side; handle and two hasps.

An iron case similar to the one shown here is in the Musée du Louvre (MRR 86). This type of box was used to keep coins, jewellery and other small precious objects under lock and key.
