Walnut case sheathed in blue cloth, with compartments, with label of Thomas TURNER GUN & RIFLE MAKER in BIRMINGHAM, it contains; - A Tranter revolver, seven shots, calibre 230 annular, double action. Blued and engraved barrel. Brass frame chased with scrolls, hallmarked "TRANTER PATENT 50365". Grooved barrel with patina. Ivory stock (elephantidae spp.). Brass cap with embedded ramrod. Length: 16 cm; Gross weight: 340 g. Key, keyhole and lid motif missing. Good condition. Circa 1860. With accessories: two chopsticks and an oil cruet. ATTACHED is a leather belt with a reproduction of a Tiffany-made WELLS FARGO buckle in brass. Provenance: Collection of Mr F. EXPERT: Arnaud DE GOUVION SAINT-CYR. // Pre-Convention ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A), prior to 1 July 1947 and therefore in conformity with EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to 1 July 1975 and therefore in conformity with the French decrees of 4 May 2017 and January 2022. If the animal is to be exported from the European Union, a CITES re-export permit will be required, at the buyer's expense.
