ITALIAN BOX SET with wooden core veneered with stained wood and carved bone. The rim is veneered with 30 plates of carved bone in low relief depicting noble ladies, soldiers and other unidentified subjects. The lid, overhung by tiers, is also veneered with carved bone (eight plaques) of profiles in medallions and other plant elements. The interior is made of crimson damask fabric.
