COIFFURES. Royal Guard mounted grenadier bearskin cap, strong leather carcass covered in bearskin consisting of several pieces sewn together, scarlet cloth cap lined with linen and embroidered with a flaming 3-branched grenade in silver cannetille, at the back there is a triangular slit and a tightening strap allowing adjustment of the waist, On the left are 2 gussets for the plumeet and pompom, placed respectively 18 and 29 cm from the lower edge, white wool pompom not of the model, silvered copper plate with the arms of France under a royal crown framed with leaves and pomegranates in the corners, front pompom and cordon-raquette in silvered trimmings not of the model, interior cap present consisting of a basane headband. Height 38 cm front, 40 cm back, width 28 cm bottom, 30 cm top. With label from the collection of André Thélot, former auctioneer in Blois. Restoration period. ABE Re-established on 15 July 1814, the company of mounted grenadiers consisted of a captain-lieutenant commander (Colonel), approximately 30 officers and 160 mounted grenadiers, many of whom came from the Imperial Guard.
