COIFFURES. Set that belonged to Squadron Leader Louis BEGUERY of the 2nd Spahis, comprising a cork helmet model 1886 covered in beige cloth, leather headband, reception stamp (illegible), a pair of senior officer's spahis epaulettes in gold trimmings, lining in madder cloth, in poplar box, shoulder expectations, reduced ranks of colonel on a madder background, 10 ribbons (one missing), 19 gilt bell buttons, an oval brass canteen plate engraved "BEGUERY, cavalry officer", a steel Arab horse bit, 2 mismatched spurs, a pibole. BE Louis Joseph Pierre BEGUERY, born in 1891, volunteered with the 13th Cuirassiers in 1912 which became the 32nd Dragons, lieutenant with the 117th RI in 1915, captain in 1916, wounded in 1917, continued his career in the cavalry, squadron leader with the 2nd Algerian Spahis in 1936.
