Imperial staff corps colonel's kepi in amaranth drape with black headband, silver false chinstrap and flat braids, gold body print buttons, ecru cotton inner cap, black embossed leather headband. Second Empire period. Wear and tear, period restoration in amaranth cloth and to the visor, a corner of which has been reconstituted. ABE This képi has a professional tailor's restoration of the cloth, which has been the subject of a study that concludes to a period intervention. This kepi is of the same provenance as the lieutenant-colonel kepi sold at no. 130 and is thought to date from the Crimean War.
