MANDET VANGINOT brass and leather breathing mask numbered 2003, fitted with a front ventilation hatch and 2 ducts connected to the leather breathing bag, optics with mica, neck cover, pocket and tan leather straps (reconstituted), the apparatus is complete with its two 150 bar compressed air cylinders (sold in the next lot) which give it an autonomy of one hour, the regulator, the pressure gauge, a nickel-plated call horn is attached. BE Created in 1912 by Major Vanginot of the Paris fire brigade and the industrialist Mandet, it consists of a brass mask and a leather-covered rubber bag forming an artificial lung that regulates the flow of air. This device gave firefighters 30 to 40 minutes' autonomy in irrespirable atmospheres.
