COIFFURES. Rare bodyguard helmet of Jérôme BONAPARTE, King of Westphalia, burnished steel bomb with brass fittings decorated on each side with foliate scrolls, crest with black horsehair chenille, headband decorated in the centre with the initials "JN" in a shield and under a royal crown, framed with oak and laurel leaves, pencil holder, chinstrap with velvet-lined curved scales, radiating rosettes, inner cap missing. Wear and restoration, manes reattached later, bomb rebleached. Circa 1810-1813. ABE Jérôme Bonaparte (1784-1860) was Napoleon's youngest brother. He was King of Westphalia from 1807 to 1813.
