COIFFURES. Shako model 1874 of junior officer of Chasseurs à cheval with strong cardboard carcass covered with light blue fine cloth, silvered "à lézardes" rank braid, metallic tricolour cockade, silvered soutache ganse, without chinstrap-chain, inside cap with 6 brown leather wolf teeth, daffodil satinette. Attached are a pair of light cavalry junior officer epaulettes in silver trimmings with light blue cloth lining (moth holes). Worn from use. EM This shako belonged to second lieutenant and future general Roger NOIRET (1895-1976). A student at St-Cyr in 1913, second lieutenant with the 21st Chasseurs in 1914, moved to the artillery, joined the Eastern Front, captain in 1918, was on General Georges' staff in 1940, Army of the Armistice, colonel he joined General de Gaulle in 1942, commanded the artillery of the 1st Corps, then in 1943 assistant to General Koenig, brigadier general in 1944 then divisional general in 1945.
