COLLECTION OF BYZANTINE BRONZE BELT FITTINGS
Ca. AD 900 - 1000.
A collection of four bronze belt fittings, each rectangular in form and cast in low relief. The pieces depict a range of figural and zoomorphic motifs, including winged and horned quadrupeds as well as a frontal bust. The borders are decorated with beaded or incised frames, and some include piercings for attachment.
