COLLECTION OF BYZANTINE HIGH KARAT GOLD CROSS PENDANTS WITH CENTRAL CABOCHONS.
Ca. AD 600 A collection of seven gold cross-shaped pendants, each formed of four narrow flat arms of rectangular section meeting at a central round bezel with a beaded collar. The bezels retain three cabochons with red stones and four with blue to dark-coloured inlays. Size: 15-16mm x 15-16mm; Weight: 4.2g. Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in a German private collection before 2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
