COLLECTION OF BYZANTINE TERRACOTTA OIL LAMPS. Ca. AD 500 - 600. A collection of three terracotta oil lamps, including, from left to right: a pear-shaped lamp with a small rear lug and a band of short oblique strokes on the shoulder, underside with a plain recessed base; an elongated lamp with a tall back handle and a discus framed by concentric bands, underside with recessed rings; a pear-shaped lamp with a small rear lug and two bands of short oblique strokes bordering the central filling hole, underside with a cross in a circle.
