COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN FAIENCE AMULETS. Ca. 1550 - 30 BC. A collection of 20 faience amulets depicting deities, animals, and symbolic motifs. Among the divine figures are representations of Thoth, Taweret, Neferet, and Osiris. Animal forms include a baboon, a crocodile, and a sow. The group also includes wedjat eye, a small rectangular plaque and a hand amulet. Many with perforations for suspension or attachment. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
