COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN FAIENCE AMULETS.
Ptolemaic Period to Roman period, Ca. 30 - AD 200 A collection of turquoise glazed faience amulets of Egyptian Pantheon. The figures are represented standing frontally on an integral flat base, the arms held straight at the sides. A narrow back-pillar rises behind the body and joins the wig, which is pierced horizontally for suspension. The deities are Toth, Pataikos, Taweret. Size: 32-45mm x 12-20mm; Weight: 31.1g Provenance: Private London collection; previously acquired in Brussels, Belgium; initially from a Swiss private collection (1901–1981).
