COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN FAIENCE DEITIES AMULETS.
Ca. 1550 - 30 BC. A collection of five faience amulets including Anubis, depicted with a jackal head and upright ears, Thoth with an ibis head, seated Isis suckling Horus and two amulets of Taweret show the goddess as a pregnant hippopotamus. The amulets are rendered in shades of pale blue-green faience. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
