COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN INLAID FAIENCE TILES
New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty, Ca. 1293 - 1070 BC
A group of fragments of inlaid faience tiles depicting geometric motifs with differents colours and shapes, most likely from Qantir, New Kingdom. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
Size: 55-95mm x 35-70mm; Weight: 270g
Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. James Ede, 2012; with Khawam brothers, Cairo, 1950s, thence European private collection. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
