COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN STEATITE SCARABS Late Middle Kingdom to New Kingdom or later, Ca. 1850 - 800 BC A collection of three scarabs crafted from steatite and glazed steatite, each featuring a drilled hole. The first scarab, made of green glazed steatite, displays a scroll and geometric design on its base, dating to the 18th Dynasty (ca. 1475 - 1300 BC). The second scarab, made of steatite, depicts a jackal (Anubis) alongside a Horus falcon, inscribed with the motto “Sacred land of light” (indicating the realm of the dead), and dates to the New Kingdom or later (ca. 1400 - 1200 or 1000 - 800 BC). The third scarab is also crafted from green glazed steatite and features a scroll pattern on its base, dating to the Late Middle Kingdom (ca. 1850 - 1700 BC). Studied by PD Dr. habil.
