COLLECTION OF GREEK BLACK GLAZED TERRACOTTA VESSELS.
Ca. 450 - 300 BC A collection of six terracotta vessels, including, from left to right in the upper row: a kantharos with a flaring rim, deep cup, two high loop handles, and a low foot, the body with a diamond lattice zone above a laurel spray in added white; a cup with a hemispherical bowl on a short foot, the exterior with a band of ivy tendrils between horizontal lines; a footed cup with a hemispherical bowl, the lower body with vertical fluting, the upper section with a band of dotted ornament; and, from left to right in the lower row: a shallow bowl with a broad rim, the interior rim with a ring of white circles; a bowl with a central rosette and a dotted border; and a shallow bowl with a dotted rim in added white. Size: 32-121mm x 120-170mm; Weight: 900g. Private London collection; previously acquired on the Belgian art market; originally in the collection of L Evrard, Liege 1980’s.
