COLLECTION OF MEDIEVAL BRONZE BELT PLATES Ca. AD 1100 - 1300. A collection of four bronze belt plates. The one in the upper left is rectangular with a recessed field showing a lion in profile advancing left, bordered on one side by a vertical loop. The one in the upper right is similarly rectangular, with a gryphon rendered in low relief with spiral tail and raised wings, framed by a dotted edge. The one in the lower left shows a lion attacking a smaller quadruped, both rendered in bold relief with drilled attachment holes at two corners.
