COLLECTION OF MESOPOTAMIAN BLACK STONE SEALS Ca. 3500 - 2500 BC. A collection of three stone stamp seals. The seal on the left has a rectangular base with rounded edges, featuring an incised depiction of a scorpion with clearly defined pincers and a segmented body. The central seal is square and bears an engraving of a quadruped with a raised head and elongated legs, standing before a plant-like symbol. The seal on the right is circular, carved with a scene of a figure riding a horse. Size: 19.4-22.8mm x 20.5-15.9mm; Weight: 17.31g Provenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s; previously in 1970s UK collection.
