COLLECTION OF ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD AMULETS
Ca. AD 1 - 200.

The first represents a male lower torso with a prominent phallus and testicles, the surface decorated with two rows of raised curls suggesting pubic hair, and an integral suspension loop above. The second is a flat, stylised depiction of the lower torso, decorated with incised lines, and with the loop formed by folding over the upper edge. The third is nearly rectangular with rounded corners, showing a phallus in relief within a beaded frame, surmounted by a ribbed suspension loop.
